What Smilepad manufactures

Smilepad manufactures the full disposable feminine hygiene range, so a single supplier can cover an entire private label catalogue without splitting the order across vendors.

Absorbent core options span wood-pulp with SAP and, where a brief calls for it, cotton and bamboo-fibre variants for a natural-materials line. Top sheets, wrap, wing shape, embossing and fragrance are all specifiable at the brief stage.

This is the first question a serious buyer should ask a manufacturer, and the one most manufacturer pages skip. Under the Medical Textiles (Quality Control) Order, 2024, BIS certification against IS 5405:2025 is mandatory for every disposable sanitary napkin sold, manufactured or imported in India. Without a valid ISI mark, a napkin cannot legally reach the Indian market.

IS 5405:2025 sets the requirements for the top sheet, absorbent core, barrier and bottom sheet, together with type, size, pH and the ability to hold up under pressure after absorption. Smilepad manufactures to this specification as the baseline, not the ceiling, which means a brand launching under a Smilepad line inherits a compliant product from day one instead of retrofitting compliance after a recall.

Private label and OEM sanitary pad manufacturing

Most brands that come to Smilepad do not want a stock product with a sticker on it. They want their own napkin, their own pack, their own name, made by someone else. That is the OEM and private label brief, and it is the core of what Smilepad does.

The process runs in a straight line. You bring the brief, Smilepad builds the sample, and once the sample is approved the line goes to production against an agreed schedule.

• Approve a physical sample before any bulk run.

Manufacturing and quality

Smilepad runs 2 production lines with a capacity of 4.5 cr units/monthly, in a facility built around hygiene control rather than fitted for it afterwards. Raw material is checked in, the line is monitored through the run, and finished stock is checked out, so a defect is caught at the stage it appears instead of at the customer's dock.

Quality control covers absorbency, retention under pressure, pH, top-sheet integrity and pack accuracy, tested against IS 5405:2025.
