On 28 May 2025, on World Menstrual Hygiene Day, in Mumbai, a number became a milestone. Alembic CSR and Team Elena of Alembic Pharmaceuticals set an official Guinness World Record for the most sanitary products donated to charity in twenty four hours. The verified count was 300,000 pads, gathered, checked, and handed to an NGO that would carry them onward to the women and girls who need them most.
Every one of those pads was a Smilepad Ultrafresh, manufactured and packed by Smilepad.
We do not say that to take a bow. We say it because a record like this one is never really about the moment it is announced. It is about the months of quiet work that make the moment possible, the standards held when nobody is counting, and the promise that the thing inside the wrapper does exactly what a woman trusts it to do. That is the record behind the record, and it is the one we care about most.
Menstrual hygiene in India is still a story of the gap. Millions of women and girls manage their periods without consistent access to a safe, affordable pad, and that gap shows up in missed school days, missed work, and health risks that should never have to exist. World Menstrual Hygiene Day exists to close the distance between what is normal and what is available, and a 300,000 pad donation is a real dent in it, one bag at a time.
A record makes people look. That is its gift. It turns a subject people avoid into a subject people talk about, it puts dignity on a stage, and it reminds a room full of decision makers that supply is the difference between a good intention and a girl who actually stays in class. Behind the headline sits the part that decides whether the intention holds, which is manufacturing.
It is easy to picture a donation as a generous act and a truck. The reality is far more demanding, and it is where Smilepad lives every day.
A number that size has to be made to a single, unwavering standard, so that the last pad in the count performs like the first. It has to be produced on a timeline that a global adjudication will not forgive, so that the promised quantity is real quantity, present and countable, on the day it is promised. And it has to be packed cleanly, sealed correctly, and labelled honestly, so that a product built for hygiene arrives hygienic. Scale, consistency, and reliability are not marketing words for us. On a day like this one, they are the whole job.
Supplying the product at the centre of a Guinness World Record attempt is, in the plainest terms, a stress test of a factory. Smilepad passed it in full. We made the pads, we packed the pads, and we delivered them to a standard that stood up to an official, independent count. For any brand, CSR team, or institution weighing who to trust with volume, that is the proof that matters, because it happened under the brightest possible light. It is also why our quality certifications are not a page we hide.
The pad that carried this milestone was not a special edition built for a photograph. It was Smilepad Ultrafresh, the same everyday pad made for real bodies, long days, and ordinary comfort. That distinction is deliberate. A donation should never be a downgrade, and a woman receiving a pad for free deserves the same protection, the same softness, and the same dignity as a woman buying one off a shelf.
That is the belief that shaped Smilepad from the start. We build feminine hygiene for the many, not the few, warmth and quality at a price that reaches the people who have too often been priced out. A record simply made that belief visible at a scale the whole world could see.
India's feminine hygiene market is growing fast, and with it the number of brands, CSR programmes, and institutions that need a manufacturing partner they can count on. Choosing one is a question of trust, and trust is best judged by what a partner has already carried.
Smilepad has now carried the heaviest test the category offers, a Guinness World Record supply, manufactured and packed in house, verified and distributed to the women it was made for. If you are building a private label or OEM line, running a large scale CSR or institutional programme, or sourcing sanitary pads at volume for export or bulk supply, this is the record that answers the only question that counts. Can this partner deliver quality, at scale, when it truly matters. On 28 May 2025, in front of the world, the answer was yes.
That is the promise in our name, and we intend to keep it, one pad, one partner, one woman at a time.
